S.E. Cupp
S.E. Cupp is a co-host on MSNBC’s ensemble show ‘The Cycle,’ which airs Monday-Friday at 3PM ET. She is also the author of "Losing Our Religion" and co-author of "Why You're Wrong About the Right." She has a weekly column at the New York Daily News, and is a contributing editor at Townhall magazine.
She's been published in the Washington Post, Sports Illustrated, Slate and others. She is a television and radio commentator, and regularly appears on Glenn Beck's GBTV.
Born in California, raised outside of Boston, she earned a BA from Cornell University and has a masters in faith studies from NYU.

Seriously MSNBC???????????? All comments about Cupp have been negative - no one likes her or ever wants to see her on this network. Her arrogance and lies are only appropriate for Fox. I WILL NEVER WATCH THIS NEW SHOW TILL SHE IS GONE.................... WHY WHY WHY MSNBC WOULD YOU EVER PERMIT HER TO BE A GUEST LET ALONE A HOST - I guess I will watch Fox at 3 pm everyday now :( You broke my heart MSNBC.............................
S. E. Cupp... What at Idio her comments were on July 17th...please...she has got to go, why not Geore Will and her...you wont even need any other guests, and could re-run it on CBS for a decade without change.
S.E. Cupp's comments today on her extrapolations/deductions the hows, whats, and whys Muslims are responding to the video clip are shallow and erroneous. They would be offensive, if not so ignorant. She has actually taken couses in "faith studies"? Krystak, Steve and Mr. Toure, do yourselves a favor and have her replaced to save the credibilty of your show. I am all for different points of view supported by facts and a good healthy debate, but I do not perceive MSNBC as a venue for "soapboxing" as she used it for today. This was a abuse of responsibility and airtime.
Come on guys, dissent is good especially when it comes from someone as good looking as Cupp. I hope she's here for good. In fact let her and Krystal have a show by themselves.
Let's see... what happens if we live in a world where we all stay in our own little corners and never talk... hmmmm.... places like Fox become most popular and their viewers never see the light of day... MSNBC could become that if not for the influence of "the other". Perhaps something good can come of this.
I don't mind having alternative voices on programs - but not dominating the conversation - constantly shouting and talking over comentators and guests. They were flat rude to the author they invited to discuss his book.
What happened to the previous comments on this thread (or whatever they call it these days)? Just wondering.
S.E. Cupp needs to go!
S.E. Cupp is on the wrong network. She DEFINITELY belongs on Fox News. She is condescending, arrogant, a royal ass. I like the other co-host, but she is more than I candeal with. I did not think anything made me want to gag more than Joe Scarborough, but I feel the bile rise when I hear her voice.
MSNBC she is wrong for you guys. Let her go back to her weekly column.
S E Cupp believes that an “analysis” piece written by her girl friend on Town Hall trumps or debunks the Fortune Magazine article by Katherine Eban? I really want to take conservative opinions seriously, but when the other members of the show let the comment slide after hearing it was on Town Hall …well there you have it. I like an idiot went and read the article - what a waste of time.
S.E. Cupp. Really? Who picked this conservative clown? If I wanted to see her kind of nonsense, I would tune in to Fox more often, not just when I want a good laugh. Give me Lawrence, Ed, Rachel, but I think I'll pass on tuning into "The Cycle." Terrible.
SE Cupp:
How can you say that Romney's ever changing statements of his convictions has nothing to do with his character? A person's character is based on how committed he is to his principles and convictions. If one changes the convictions which he has expressed as his own to suit the whims of those whom he wants to please, this is certainly a sign of a person who has a weak or, possibly, deceptive character. This is certainly a character flaw.

she went on some anti-atheist rant today that just ruined everything else anyboby else said on the show today...
Please, buy a muzzle! I really wanted to hear what Kelly James Clark had to say about his book. Unfortunately we had a rant from S.E. Cupp about her religious issues and her perception of the country. What a ridiculous comment to make that an aethiest would be any more egocentric than some of the - I Am God presidents and candidates we have had of late.
I've been a long-time viewer of MSNBC and have seen many commentators come and go but having to listen to S.E. Cupp made me want to go. Her condescending attitude and GlennBecklogic (what- that doesn't make sense?) means I can't watch this show no matter how wonderful the other people are. MSNBC viewers are too smart for her nonsense.
This Supreme Court decision seems to be interpreted by so many different opinions. Although this one was sent to me by email, it is similar to an article in this week's Time Magazine.

Before you look to do harm to Chief Justice Roberts or his family, it’s important that you think carefully about the meaning – the true nature — of his ruling on Obama-care. The Left will shout that they won, that Obama-care was upheld and all the rest. Let them.
It will be a short-lived celebration.
Here’s what really occurred — payback. Yes, payback for Obama’s numerous, ill-advised and childish insults directed toward SCOTUS.
Chief Justice Roberts actually ruled the mandate, relative to the commerce clause, was unconstitutional. That’s how the Democrats got Obama-care going in the first place. This is critical. His ruling means Congress can’t compel American citizens to purchase anything. Ever. The notion is now officially and forever, unconstitutional. As it should be.
Next, he stated that, because Congress doesn’t have the ability to mandate, it must, to fund Obama-care, rely on its power to tax. Therefore, the mechanism that funds Obama-care is a tax. This is also critical. Recall back during the initial Obama-care battles, the Democrats called it a penalty, Republicans called it a tax. Democrats consistently soft sold it as a penalty. It went to vote as a penalty. Obama declared endlessly, that it was not a tax, it was a penalty. But when the Democrats argued in front of the Supreme Court, they said ‘hey, a penalty or a tax, either way’. So, Roberts gave them a tax. It is now the official law of the land — beyond word-play and silly shenanigans. Obama-care is funded by tax dollars. Democrats now must defend a tax increase to justify the Obama-care law.
Finally, he struck down as unconstitutional, the Obama-care idea that the federal government can bully states into complying by yanking their existing medicaid funding. Liberals, through Obama-care, basically said to the states — ‘comply with Obama-care or we will stop existing funding.’ Roberts ruled that is a no-no. If a state takes the money, fine, the Feds can tell the state how to run a program, but if the state refuses money, the federal government can’t penalize the state by yanking other funding. Therefore, a state can decline to participate in Obama-care without penalty. This is obviously a serious problem. Are we going to have 10, 12, 25 states not participating in “national” health-care? Suddenly, it’s not national, is it?
Ultimately, Roberts supported states rights by limiting the federal government’s coercive abilities. He ruled that the government can not force the people to purchase products or services under the commerce clause and he forced liberals to have to come clean and admit that Obama-care is funded by tax increases.
Your segment today seems to think Gov. Perry was crazy to decline expansion of the Medicaid part of the Obamacare bill. The above may be the reason why.

Christians, muslims and athiests all make the same error of claiming how many gods there aren't. You are a mesomorphic endothermic bipedal homonid who is in the condition of being god free. When some invisible god Thingy lands in your yard then you will no longer be god free. Wait there :)
'Higher power' is just an unethical bait and switch for 'invisible god Thingy'.
Never use the nonsense phrase "believe in". We don't 'believe in' evolution. We don't 'believe out' evolution. We UNDERSTAND evolution. May the fastest invisible god Thingy bless you all :)
Watching SE seriously aggravates me. She would fit in great in Fox news but not so much on MSNBC. Her antagonism and lack of knowledge veiled in contentious arrogant pretentious smugness is sickening. How can an intelligent person express such a moronic view about voter fraud when faced with mathematical facts of the real numbers of the situation at hand. She is offensive and rude. Please get rid of her if you want viewers. The rest of the team is great. away with SE!
GREAT JOB SE- YOUR STATEMENT IS TRUE TO FACT.
IF IT WALKS LIKE A DUCK AND TALKS LIKE A DUCK THEN IT IS ............
again keep up the good work.
Dear MSNBC....
The Cycle might be a good show if not for S.E.Cupp, the other three work pretty well but Miss Cupp has little or no grasp on the political reality in this county, whats more she is rude, arrogant, and is consistently pushing her right wing agenda. If I wanted to hear nonsense I would watch Fox News. I have watched now since the showed aired thinking maybe she was having a bad day...sadly no,.. today was the last straw for me, caping on the president like that. Please do us and yourselves a favor and take out the trash. P.S. (whats with the phoney glasses?? note if she wants to look and sound smart keep her mouth shut ).
S.E., I wondered where you had gone to I was pretty surprised to find you here. But still it was good to see you again.
As for the rest of you, you are flat a$$ nasty people not worth knowing.Try to have a nicer day.
OOOMMMMGGGG!!!!! How could you ever hire that arrogant, egotistical, nauseating, ce cupp? I don't expect a conservative to agree with me, but how about putting someone like Michael Steele . . who is intelligent.
I feel like I'm watching FOX when she speaks on the cycle. Her FACE . . when others are viewing their opinion . . is patronizing and arrogant. She has NO grace, no compassion, no understanding, no RESPECT for the Democratic viewpoint.
Do you think you can get higher ratings by enciting anger with viewers like me?
I also watch CNN . . never Fox . . and I feel like I've tuned into Fox when she speaks.
Shame on you!!!!!
Originally to jonathan haidt- but i would like ms cupp's comments as well
Certainly- sound bytes on the spin cycle are not going to do you justice- but, from what I heard- here are some questions:
For me- well educated at Mt Hermon Prep and Oberlin and having been brought up in the church- morality has to do with such iron clad commandments as "thou shalt not kill" or "blessed are the peacemakers". I feel that the more one studies- the more comes to such wise men as M L King or Ghandi as teachers. Most "conservatives" in this country are in favor of war and military spending. Conservatism in the U S seems anti intellect- anti science- anti truth- and ( look at Ms Rand) anti compassion.
One does not arrive at a "conservative" position- which seems a bit of a misnomer- in the common parlance.
If I want to conserve peace- I oppose war. If I want to conserve life- I oppose poverty. If I want conservation-= I am on the side of the green movement.
I do not hear you or conservatives mention these distinctions.
You seem- as most "talking heads" to talk a bit too fast- if I may say so- but that is a minor issue.
I think the more educated we become- the more we go to the left- so I can't see yr- ying and yang thing- that seems like a misstatement.
Am I wrong?

S.E. Cupp is more than I can take. The rest seem intelligent, and smart. To have a degree from Cornell, she sure does not sound like it. Sorry will have to watch another channel at three. By the way anyone that is with the Glenn Beck, truly shows there igorance. Get her off your show.
S.E. Now you are lying about things like the rest of the GOP. Opinions are one thing - If you are going to call out anyone about lying it should Romney/ Ryan. Lying goes to character - and now you have joined them. Why I am not suprised.
Looking back at the Presidential primaries, I am reminded of the substandard contenders who’d been programmed with artificial stupidity. Perhaps, with the exception of our barony of American billionaires buying the power to crown a stooge, no legally sane citizen could ever have imagined any one of these candidates boarding an on demand flight on Air Force One.
So why did the Republican aparat send in the clowns, if only quietly acknowledge their candidacy? The strategy seemed clear: better to sacrifice a losing team to a popular incumbent – and wait to throw in your best hat in 2016.
But this playbook was as dicey as the one confected in 2007. Terrified that the odds-on favorite Hillary would win the primary, the GOP strategists brazenly supported Obama, mainly because they were as certain as Tuesday follows Monday that a black Presidential candidate could never ascend beyond head chef in the White House. This idiocy went so far as to have local GOP headquarters issue Obama T shirts to life-long Republican voters. Oh, yea--I was there.
There are times when Fortune smiles and long shots win; and Romney could speciously argue his way into the White House. How do you stop a salesman who can sell a neo-Nazi a circumcision knife?
Jerry Sedley
Just when I was finally able to stomach S.E. Cupp, she said that after the election she is going to go hunting.
Does she think this impresses anyone? She is a phony hipster wanna be redneck who should shut the hell up. I will go back to NOT watching the show.
