As important as yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling was to the future of healthcare policy in the United States, it probably won’t have much, if any, impact on the November election.
Each side can make a decent case for why the verdict is a political winner (Republicans: Now the only recourse for voters who want to get rid of the law is to vote for Romney; Democrats: It’s a high-profile validation of the law that will lessen the fears of swing voters), so it probably won’t lead to a big boost for either candidate. More important is the likelihood that healthcare itself just won’t be a major factor in swing voters’ minds this fall.

Isn't it reasonable to expect that President Obama's odds of reelection will improve as more American Citizens view the fury of the republican party now that the American Everyman/woman will have access to insurance and health care? Republican legislators having hysterics on city streets, breaking down in screams and tears upon hearing that ACA was declared Constitutional, right-wing propagandists on TV and talk-radio spewing their venemous hatred for Justice Roberts and calling the Supreme Court a "death panel" and even the always well-insured S.E. Cupp--whose GYN exams, her birth control, her BREAST CANCER EXAMS, and her anti-HPV vaccine injections were all paid for by her Mommy and Daddy's health insurance--couldn't contain her disgust for the knowledge that we, of the great unwashed, we--Mr. and Ms. Average American will now have access to health insurance and health care. The only time S.E. believes that a non-right wing, non-republican, non-wealthy, non-white woman should see a doctor is when that woman is being subjected to unnecessary, invasive, humiliating and degrading republican-mandated medical procedures that focus upon the female reproductive system. If, as reliable sources report, S.E. is so picky about who gets to look up her vagina, why is she so eager to have someone invade the private parts of other women who are not S.E.? S.E. and other republican-facist thugs decry "big government" and want to limit government power over the individual--unless, of course, it's the right-wing government sticking it's filthy minds and hands into the reproductive systems of American women?
